Planning laws relating to home extensions were relaxed earlier in the year after the government decidedly to permanently allow single-storey rear extensions up to 6m for terraced and semi-detached homes, and up to 8m long for detached houses, to be built without planning permission.

At the recent Tory conference, proposals were even made to enable householders to add a two storey extension to their homes without having to get planning permission first, but whether this becomes law remains to be seen.

So, we may well be able to get on with building you an extension without delay. However, if planning permission is necessary, Visual will assist with putting an application together.

Finance
