Home Improvements On Prescription A Possibility?
The NHS is facing its greatest ever crisis since its establishment under the Labour government in 1948. Officially recognised as the world’s largest publicly funded health service, the rise in obesity, lack of doctors and nurses, and growing population are just some of the explanations given as to why the National Health Service is in the state it is and in dire need of some form of resuscitation.
The current government and their rival political parties have each set out how they intend on or propose to save the NHS from any impending disaster, with some bodies and local councils having already taken action of their own to stop the problem from escalating. Some of the measures employed by them to improve health are somewhat outside of the box.
According to a recent article by the BBC which you can read in full here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-33016431 in Liverpool the council runs a ‘Healthy Homes Programme’ aiming to prevent ill health and injury resulting from poor quality housing conditions. Whilst in Sunderland, doctors offer help with insulation, double-glazing and boilers which has seen demand for patient care drop.
Maybe health really does begin at home!
It makes sense though when you think about it because if your home is poorly insulated and cold air easily gets into your living space then there is a greater chance of you catching illness and potentially having to rely on the NHS for treatment, especially when it’s a place where we spend so much of our time. Making sure that more homes are thoroughly insulated would likely reduce the strain on our much envied NHS.
If you suspect that your windows and doors aren’t doing their job properly then you should let Visual replace them as our contemporary windows and doors cut heat loss and transfer warmth in.
