Identifying The Correct Feature Door For Your Home

It’s felt like a lifetime waiting for it to come, and we hope not to jinx things by saying that the weather appears to finally be improving.

Don’t miss a second of it and get in the garden whilst it’s warmer, encouraged to do so by the presence of a feature door in the house, because we all know how quickly it can change.

Three doors in our product range fall into the category of being referred to as ‘feature doors’ – bi-folding doors, patio doors, and French doors.

Feature doors are aptly named, offering an alluring design and hypnotic opening style that endlessly captivates.

If you have more than a passing interest in having either of the three options fitted to establish a connection between home and garden, familiarise oneself with each solution:

Bi-Folding Doors

At present, the bi-folding door is the most highly prized feature door of the lot and you can certainly see the attraction of it.

Offered in up to a 7-leaf configuration, a bifold door has a remarkably undemanding folding mechanism as you open and close the design and when operated open, removes a huge passage of wall area, causing light to swamp your space and allowing you to nonchalantly exit.

Stand on the bifold’s low threshold to soak in the undisturbed view you get too; sure to absorb your attention.

Patio Doors

A patio door has that same smooth sliding action of a bifolding door but has no sections that occupy space internally or externally, just moving from left to right or opposite.

For that reason, it’s a fantastic choice where space is sparse and the door opening won’t be disturbed by furniture positioned close to it.

There’s no facility to remove a full wall with patio doors because of how they function, but you can compensate by calling for extra-large panes to be included to maximise the sightlines.

French Doors

Italian design was the inspiration behind the creation of the French door, conceived way back in the 17th century.

As it’s a hinged double door, you can open either section independently or embrace the double opening at once when you yearn to get amongst nature and grab some fresh air in the garden.

Inform of whether you want an inward or outward opening, testament to the flexibility of a French door, and prepare for how it keeps on luring you outdoors over the spring and summer months.
