The backstory of FENSA

FENSA, better known as the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme, was established, with Government approval, in 2002, by the Glass and Glazing Federation.

It became the very first Competent Person Scheme for the window and door installation industry in England and Wales.

Only when you appoint a FENSA installer will you receive a FENSA certificate.

This is a significant document as it acts as proof that your window and door installation is compliant with building regulations, energy efficient, and registered with your local authority.

It needs to be kept in a safe place as you will need the certificate to sell your home.

Without this certificate, you will have to self-certify the installation yourself, for a fee, arranging for your Local Building Control Officer to inspect it.

FENSA keep tabs on all their Approved Installers, including us.

We are regularly assessed to ensure that we are continuing to comply with building regulations and our customers are assured of quality installations.

If FENSA notice any dip in our installation standards, they can retract our accreditation, which would almost certainly lead to a reduction in business.
