The Importance Of FENSA And FENSA Certificates
There are so many home improvement companies locally, never mind nationally, that it can be difficult knowing which firm to choose. What we would say is that you’re less likely to be left disappointed when you appoint a company that is a fully-fledged member of FENSA, like Visual Conservatories, Windows & Doors.
FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme and was established by the GGF (Glass and Glazing Federation), a trade association that represents companies that manufacture, supply or install glass and glazing products in the UK and internationally.
The predominant purpose of FENSA is to regulate companies involved in the glazing industry and ensure that the work they provide to customers satisfies the industry standard and complies with Building Regulations.
Visual achieved FENSA member status after FENSA’s team of assessors checked that our work practices and installation standards were completely up to scratch. We continue to be assessed on a regular basis to ensure that we are maintaining these standards and worthy of our retaining our membership.
Input the postcode WF14 9DQ here to find our installer profile on the FENSA website.
Insisting on a FENSA approved company also comes with other handy benefits. It means that any window or door installation you have done is fully certified and registered and complies with building regulations. When you choose a non-FENSA member it will be your responsibility to organise certification via your local authority and obtain all the relevant paperwork, otherwise this could come back to bite you in the future.
The FENSA emblazoned certificate handed to you by Visual or any other FENSA member needs to be kept in a safe place as you will need it when selling – it must be passed onto the next householder. However, if you lose this FENSA certificate, it can be replaced! Just visit the FENSA website and request a replacement certificate. This will cost you £20.
You know you’re in safe hands with Visual
Visual won’t let you down and makes any window, door or conservatory installation completely stress-free for its customers from start to finish.
