Time To Spring Clean Your Extension And Freshen Up The Space
You’re definitely in the minority if you enjoy cleaning of any sort, let alone spring cleaning; most of us don’t. But once it’s done, you will agree that a thorough spring cleaning of the house is worth the effort and you will be pleased that you did it.
There’s no getting out of it for most of us this year either as lockdown has left millions of householders confined to their homes.
One place you shouldn’t omit to clean this spring, if you have one, is your conservatory, or whatever other form of extension you own, especially at a time like this when you’re relying on it a lot.
So, raid your kitchen cupboards for as many cleaning products and cleaning aids you can find, pull on the marigolds and exert some energy making the structure look spotless, inside and out.
Here’s a conservatory cleaning routine you can follow:
- It makes sense to clean the interior first. But, before you do, bring some fresh air indoors by opening all of the windows and doors within the extension.
- To be able to deep clean your conservatory floor and furniture, take away any rugs, throws and cushions, which you should beat off outside to shift any dust from them. If any of these rugs, throws and cushions are washable, stick them in the washing machine. When they’re out of the way, you can hoover and mop properly.
- Do you have children or any pets in the family? If so, there will almost certainly be some paw or fingerprints on some of the glass surround. Grab a cloth and cleaning agent to wipe them away.
- The same cleaning agent may come in handy for shifting any marks on wood or glass furniture, which you can then polish.
- For the exterior, wash down the framework (if UPVC or aluminium) with a soft sponge and soapy water to clean it, and clean the glass too (use a squeegee if you want to avoid any streaks).
- Can you cope with heights? Scale a ladder to check for any blockages in your guttering. Over the winter, leaves may have built up inside of it and if you don’t take them out, it could result in eventual water damage. UPVC roofline is easy to clean, so give that a wipe down too.
Just from cleaning the windows and doors alone, you will get so much more natural light coming in, and the newly pleasing odour will satisfy everyone’s senses. Spring cleaning a conservatory is also a good way to sustain your fitness levels while being temporarily house-bound.
Don’t have a conservatory to clean, but wish you had one right now because you feel squeezed for space? Arrangements can be made for a future conservatory installation as Visual remains open for business. Contact us here for assistance.
