What A Solid Roof Is And How It Will Help Your Conservatory

Spring is now here and the current temperature is at a level where it’s neither too hot or too cold which will be welcomed by a lot of conservatory owners as it means the internal feel of their extension will be just right for a brief period of time.

In a biting cold winter, traditional conservatories can feel freezing cold, whereas in a scorching summer, they’re more like baking hot ovens.

It’s hugely frustrating when the weather scuppers the chances of a conservatory owner being able to use their extension as all they understandably want to do is get in there as often as they can.

There is a solution though and all it involves is a simple upgrade of the existing roof to a solid roof, a thermally insulating replacement roofing system.

Quick to fit, very often taking inside a day or two, it is lightweight and can be bespoke designed for most conservatory styles.

Once the solid roof installation has concluded, when it’s roasting hot outside it will keep the old structure nice and cool, and when temperatures plunge you can rely on it to offer sufficient warmth. Solid roofs make all-year round conservatory living attainable, so you really will be able to get 24/7, 365 days a year use out of your conservatory – it will feel like entering into a completely different space.  

Upgrading to a solid roof will also give an extension a modern aesthetic as the tiles / slates really make it look more up-to-the-minute. They can be finished in a wide selection of appropriate colours and they’re not likely to crack or discolour like your ordinary tiles and slates. You can also include one or more roof windows in the roof covering to maximise natural light transference.
